Hey there, I’m Wendy Batten
I opened my creative retail business because I loved creating and sharing my passion with others, and teaching others to paint and create. It filled my happy bucket as a creative but I wasn’t nailing the business side of things … at first.
I spent the first few years running my shop on a wing and prayer, trying to do “all the things” store owners need to do. I ran my store all day and taught classes at night, making samples and trying to input items online when I could get around to it, hoping and praying next week’s rent would be made. I didn’t have systems, I didn’t have a plan, I wasn’t looking at my numbers … I was doing so many things wrong and yet still busy.
I loved my shop, my customers and things were good but I was spinning all the plates at the same time. So I took control and never looked back.
After I buckled down, and invested in business coaches and business courses, I got clarity. I learned the foundations of retail business and entrepreneurial mindset. I discovered 7 key areas that made the difference. It made my store super profitable and more importantly … it helped with my overwhelm and I got control of my business again.
For the past 5 years, I have been helping others to do the same!
